MISSION

Foster authentic connections and share resources for creatives who are Black, Indigenous and People of Color to gain equitable access to museum and exhibition contracts.

Despite representing at least 40% of the American work force, BIPOC only account for:

14%

Graphic Designers

6%

Museum Technicians, Archivists, Curators

20%

Architects

Data from 2021 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Current Population Survey.

Museums and cultural institutions say they want to work with more BIPOC creatives but that they can’t find them.

This platform is meant to nurture a growing network of BIPOC creatives in the museum and exhibition space to show museums they are not hard to find.

A recent survey by AIGA showed that underrepresented groups reported a lack of networks and lack of support as the top 2 challenges they faced when entering the field of design.

Hi! I’m Arianna.

Not Hard to Find was born out of my graduate thesis, which found a gap between institutions who say they want to diversify their teams or work with BIPOC contractors but say they can't find them, and the BIPOC creatives who are interested and ready to do the work.

In my research and interviews with design and museum professionals, the power of networking, resource sharing, and honest conversation continued to surface as ways to close that gap.

I’ve been developing this project as a pop-up experience with a digital footprint to raise the visibility of BIPOC in the field—to improve access to contracts, to connect with each other, and to show the next generation we are not hard to find.
